Who we are
PEAN is made up of data analysts from member agencies. We were established in 2017 under the Data Integration Partnership for Australia (DIPA).
Most of our member agencies hold data on the physical environment – including energy, water and other natural resources, agriculture and farms, and biodiversity. The Australian Bureau of Statistics provides access to integrated business and person level data. The Department of Agriculture, Water and the Environment department co-ordinate the unit.

Part of the Data Integration Partnership for Australia
PEAN was formed in 2017 as a data analytical unit under the Data Integration Partnership for Australia (DIPA) program. This whole-of-government program aims to maximise the use and value of the Australian Government’s data assets. The program includes other components, including other data analytical units, all of which report to the DIPA Program Management Office in the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.
